Professor Xu Bo, Deputy Director of the Institute of International Politics, presided over the session, and some postgraduates of the Institute attended the session and shared their book reports.

The books chosen for this reading session are Putin: Russias Choice written by Richard Sakaw, a British expert on Russian politics, and Russias Development Path: Domestic Politics and International Society written by Pang Dapeng, a scholar on Russian studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. At the reading session, the students compared and analyzed the contents of the two books from the perspectives of the operating characteristics of Russias political system and its foreign policy shift. Prof. Xu Bo commented on the students sharing based on the changes in elite relationships, party politics and national identity in current Russian politics. In a warm and lively atmosphere, the reading session lasted nearly three hours and achieved the expected results.

The Documentary Information Center of the Northeast Asian Studies College provided material support for this activity. The center continuously strengthens its supporting role in the teaching and research of the college. With the help of the entire faculty, the center carefully collects high-level academic works on Northeast Asia international and regional studies, enriches the literature database, and strives for better learning and research conditions for teachers and students.
