Symposium on “Triangular Relationship between China, the United States and Russia under New Circumstances” Successfully Held

    On November 8th, 2022, Professor Natalia Tsvetkova, Dean of American Studies Department, School of International Relations at St Petersburg University, Russia, delivered an online academic report on the theme of the Triangular Relationship between China, the United States and Russia under New Circumstances”, at the invitation of the Northeast Asian Research Center of Jilin University and the Northeast Asian Studies College of Jilin University. The report attracted faculty and students from Northeast Asian Studies College, School of Public Administration, and School of Foreign Studies at Jilin University

    Professor Natalia Tsvetkova is currently director of the masters program of International Relations at St Petersburg University and serves on the editorial board of Journal of St Petersburg University. She holds a concurrent post as an expert consultant for Russian International Affairs Council and Valdai Club. As an excellent expert on American studies and international relation studies, Professor Tsvetkova has in-depth research on Russian public diplomacy and U.S.-Russia relations.  

    In the lecture, Professor Tsvetkova analyzed the trend of the triangular relationship between China, the United States and Russia under new circumstances, highlighted the significance and guidance of todays digital international relations and the global public opinion struggle for the future international system, and expounded the opportunities and influence that the triangular relationship brings to China. 

    During the Q&A section, the teachers and students raised questions about the development trend of the triangular relationship between China, the United States and Russia, the shift of Russias energy policy, and Russias public diplomacy, to which Professor Tsvetkova provided insightful answers. Finally, Professor Ba Dianjun made comments and expressed his thanks to Professor Tsvetkova for her wonderful lecture and academic sharing.  

    This academic report is a session of the High-end Symposium on Northeast Asia International and Regional Studies. Warmly received, the report helps teachers and students to broaden their international vision and enhance their international communicative competence. It is also of positive significance for academic exchanges between the college and high-level universities in Russia.
